Konz + O-line = Good running game?

Postby Pudge » Mon Nov 05, 2012 1:06 am

Tale of two halves:

First Half:

11 carries, 23 yards, 2.1 avg, 2 of 10 (20%) success rate on designed runs

Second Half:

15 carries, 100 yards, 6.7 avg, 8 of 15 (53.3%) success rate on designed runs

Falcons weren't successful on any of their first 6 runs, going only for 2 yards. They were successful on 8 of their last 13 runs, going for 102 yards.

Konz making a difference? I know he did on that TD run, and I did notice that most if not all of Turner's good runs came up the middle or when running right.

The TD was behind Konz. I like what I've seen from him for the past two weeks.

Reynolds just doesn't cut it at right guard, hopefully Atlanta sticks with him similar to how they stuck with William Moore in 2010 after Erik Coleman got hurt. Let the rookie continue to play over a guy that doesn't have much of a ceiling to grow at guard.

I don't know if it was Konz. Turner has always been, and admits to, being a slow RB until he wears the D down in the 4th. I attribute the success to Jay Ratliff leaving the game and the Cowboys D wearing down as Turner finally got enough carries to bring some power and action to his legs.

I hope it's Konz. U wanna see these guys do better in the run game. They looked hopeless yet again for a while last night. But that big run helped us. They gotta do better though.
