Well of course Revis gets hurt because he was my pick for Defensive MVP this year.
Thoughts otherwise? Just a tough break for all 3 teams. Revis was the lynchpin of the Jets defense, and while neither Grimes nor Webb were quite to that level for the Falcons and Ravens, they were certainly among the Top 3 or 4 guys in terms of overall defensive importance. Webb is one of the premier slot corners in the NFL, and when you play in a conference where you're likely going to have to go through New England to go to the Super Bowl, having a good slot corner is essential.
If anything is significant, they are all lower leg injuries. Revis and Webb tore ACLs and Grimes is out with an Achilles.
Just emphasizes the fact that if you want to be a contender you need at least 3 corners that you trust as starters, and at least 1 or 2 other guys that you think are at least competent 3rd corners that can fill in in the event of injury.
The stronger you are at a position in terms of your starter, the more important it is to have good depth there.
