The Atlanta Falcons are the only unbeaten team in the NFL. We are 3 wins away from another consecutive winning season.

Despite my constantly crapping on the team, it's an excellent accomplishment. Best start in franchise history, and it's nice we have this little cushion heading into the hardest part of our schedule. It would not surprise me at all if we split our next 6 games.

I'm very confident that we'll win at least 5 of our remaining 10, although I also feel like this team is capable of winning 7 of them. Looks like the Eagles, Giants, and Saints will be the toughest matchups for us.

I just really hope that this excellent start doesn't lull the team into thinking they are much better than they actually are. I truly believe that was one of the downfalls of the 2010 team in that they believed they were one of the elite teams in the league due to their record.

I'm afraid these lackluster performances the past 3 weeks may be due to that, and this team thinking they can just sort of show up and win. It's going to be interesting going into the next phase of the season, because the target will be placed firmly on our backs. And we'll see if this team can mentally handle it.

Yeah, the, "show up and win," thing has me concerned as well. Complacency kills. I know this is horrible of me, but I think that a loss yesterday might have been better for us than a win. Beating the Raiders ugly might not be enough to light some fires under some butts. Losing to the Raiders would have been an embarrassment, and perhaps enough of a wake up call to get things rolling.

But, Mike Smith has a way of beating the teams that we should beat, no matter what. We have had some bad moments under Smith, but I don't think that we've had a clear cut embarrassment by a team that we absolutely should have beaten.
