Dunta Robinson Thank You

Postby Emmitt » Sun Oct 07, 2012 4:17 pm

This was without a doubt, the best game as a Falcon for Dunta Robninson. I'll do a game recap later tonight but Dunta gets his own personal post. He never missed a tackle on Morris and went straight on knocking him down. He never really got beat by Garcon and when he did, he stripped it out. Then the interception at the end which was a gimmie but still excellent game by Dunta. He's quietly shutting up the critics this year.

I was at a bar today with a Redskins fan, and he was fawning over Dunta even before he was making plays because he loved his hitting. Each time he said it, I sorta rolled my eyes internally.

But Dunta did have a good game today. He's been playing his best football. It's ridiculous that Dunta is better when Grimes is out of the lineup. But that was the case last year, as he played pretty well over the last 7 or so games of the year, with probably the 2nd CAR game being the lone exception. And vs. KC, he struggled mightily in th slot. But moving back outside these last 4 weeks, there have been some complaints for Dunta's play, but those are easily outweighed by the positive plays he's made.

I'd still trade him in a heartbeat for the right price, but he's at least bringing his A game this year. And while his A game is the B game of better corners around the league, you can't fault a guy for playing as well as he can.

Roll your eyes all you want but I love how Dunta brings the wood too. I noticed McLain (? # 27) in a decent bit. Has he taken Owens' spot?

McClain was the nickel back last week. They said he and Owens would split snaps this week. I didn't notice Owens other than on special teams today.

Either McClain or Samuels appeared to blow the coverage that led to the only offensive TD for the Redskins.

Actually, I thought it was Moore that let Moss get behind him...

I would have thought that a corner should have been on Moss. As much as I like Moore, he shouldn't be manned up against Moss.

That was on Moore in terms of the touchdown. Stood there like a statue and didn't react. Willy Mo ain't always ready I guess. Dunta was awesome though today and has at least showed something compared to that bum Ray Edwards.

I believe that Edwards caused a hurry which led to the last interception.

Yeah congrats Ray has made one notable play to justify his 6 million a year contract.

Just re watched the clip and it was Babs who caused the hit. Once again Babs making timely plays something that dope Edwards never does.

When you watch the All-22, you see how incredibly medicore Ray Edwards is as a pass rusher. And he's really not bringing much to the table as a run defender this year, like he did last year.

Barring a major improvement from Ray Ray over the next 11+ weeks, the Falcons have to cut him this off-season. Otherwise, it's going to be another off-season full of TD-bashing from Pudge...

I'm on the Pudge bashing bandwagon, I've had enough of him. No player making that kind of money should be this irrelevant. Ray is irrelevant, let's face it. If he wants to take a pay cut and accept his role at being a backup, then fine but his days of making this much money is over. Dmitroff struck out big on this one and I'll admit I thought he was going to be a game changer. If only Jason Babin was a Falcon.

I want to make sure that it's known that I'm not a fan of Edwards or anything, I was just pointing out that I thought that he might have contributed SOMETHING. Apparently, I was wrong. In any case, he's obviously not pulling his weight.

Gotta admit, i was impressed with Dunta's play yesterday. I mean, it seemed as if every time they ran the ball, he made the tackle himself. I liked the performance.
