The ESPN Draftcast jas the DDuckett rumor on it. Funny the Steelers Day 2 draft is what I would have wished for the Falcons: Orien Harris @ 133, Charles Davis @ 167, and Marvin Philip @ 201 all seem solid Day 2 picks I liked for the Falcons.

Maybe we can send Duckett to Pittsburgh for Keisel or Bailey. Get some decent depth at DE.

Or maybe they have a big DT that we could stick in front of Hartwell. I'd take that in a heartbeat considering we could use a little more help against the run now with all these new RB talents in our division. They need to listen to Brooking and Hartwell who have stated their desire for a big butt in front of them to take up some blockers.

If I was going to trade Duckett to the Steelers for a player it would be DT Chris Hoke, S Tyrone Carter, or CB Ricardo Colclough.

This is a trade that could still happen, but I won't hold my breath. If something goes down, it probably will come at some point during the preseason, after the Steelers get a better look at the health of Staley and if Haynes/Humes will be able to contribute significantly this season.

Looks like the deal is off.

Steelers | Trade talks for Duckett off
Sun, 30 Apr 2006 19:46:46 -0700

Ed Bouchette and Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers broke off trade talks for Atlanta Falcons RB T.J. Duckett. The Steelers offered a 2006 fifth-round draft pick, but the Falcons wanted a third-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

The steelers already drafted their big back in Cedric Humes from VT.
