3-way swing...

Postby Pudge » Tue Apr 25, 2006 7:41 pm

I'm just curious about how others feel, with all this being completely hypothetical.

The latest word out of Miami is that the Dolphins will send a 6th round pick to Detroit for Joey Harrington. I think I managed to convince a few people that Harrington would be one of the ideal people to replace Matt Schaub as the No. 2 to Vick if we chose to part ways with #8.

I'm just curiuos that would you have given up a 6 for Harrington if we had gotten something good for Schaub (whatever you feel that would be). I think it would have been a good trade. I know a lot of folks still don't like Harrington, but I think he still has some time to prove he can be a competent NFL QB.

Would you think that Harrington would be a better option for a 6th than anybody else we could have acquired this off-season?

he's certainly a better option than anyone we could draft in the 6th round....

I'd trust Harrington under center long before I trust DJ Shockley...

One has to wonder how scarred Harrington is after his failure in Detroit. He's definitely suited to be a backup and he'd know the offense and sure, a 6th is about right for his services.

If we can believe McKay, there'll be four QBs in training camp later this Summer so the Falcons will probably use a late pick on a project.

Agreed,...Shockley isn't my favorite choice as well,...as you may have unwittingly predicted the guy the Crows acquire.

I think Harrington is dead set on Miami now. But I would take Harrington for a 6th rounder.

I'm not exactly sure what Harrington's contract status is although I've heard he is set to receive $4 million in base salary this year, and also a $4 million roster bonus in June. But from most of the buzz I've heard all offseason many teams didn't see that as an obstacle as they were prepared to renegotiate the final two years of his contract to make his salary more palatable.
