Yeah, Shaffer is set to cash in this off-season. Even with Lepsis potentially on the market, he's clearly the #2 left tackle available, now that Backus has been tagged. There is a huge premium on LTs that's why in any given year there is maybe 2-4 LTs available via free agency (usually the average ones) and maybe 3-5 guys in the draft.

I don't expect the Falcons to make a big signing at LT for a veteran. I would expect the Falcons to go after one of these names: Mike Pearson, Todd Steussie, Ephraim Salaam, and Trey Teague. Teague and Salaam have started on Gibbs-coached lines. Pearson is injury-prone but is a talented OT that hasn't quite adjusted to the NFL. Steussie is a veteran that is probably a better fit at RT, but would at the very least be a decent backup.

Let's just cross our fingers and hope Omi is ready or we can find a decent guy (Colledge) in the draft.

Glad to hear McCrary is coming back, not so with Beverly. But if he's not getting paid as much, I'll live with it.

Salaamie!!! I remember how much hate there was for Salaam when he played for Atlanta the first time. I do think he's improved a lot from his Atlanta days and wouldn't mind picking him up again.
