Duckett

Postby starley657 » Sat Feb 11, 2006 10:24 am

The rumors are starting to fly about Duckett being traded:

It remains to be seen what happens with Carolina's running back situation, but one rumor making the rounds at the Pro Bowl is that Atlanta will try to trade T.J. Duckett.
Duckett's career hasn't progressed and Warrick Dunn is the Falcons' starter. But Duckett has good size and is the kind of power runner that could fit Carolina's offense.

There is no way we trade Duckett to Carolina. I know we might trade him, but not in our division.

heh...If TJ did go to Carolina, maybe we'd all get to see him and Hartwell collide.....at this point, I'd say TJ would lose.

I don't want TJ playing in our division....he's exactly the kind of back we'd have trouble with.....well we had trouble with every back not named Curtis Martin last year so maybe that's a moot point...

Pittsburgh is going to make a serious play for TJ. They know what he is capable of behind their line & their local media & fans are calling for a trade. One of their local reporters said they should give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him.

if that's the case then i say 'lets make a deal'. a 2nd rounder would be choice.

if we can get a 2 this year when Sea nor Indy could get a 2 for their backs last year then I will be very very surprised...

none the less if it was offered I'd jump on it...

I like Duckett but he regressed this past season. I don't really think he fits our running scheme and if this is the scheme we plan on keeping we probably do need to go another direction...

I really doubt we'll get a first day pick for him. There are a few FA out there that people will want, and like it's been said, TJ didn't do much this year. His value isn't a first day value in my opinion.

Duckett would be perfect in Carolina, although as people said, since they are in our divison, why should we give them a 1000-yard RB.

Duckett would also be a perfect fit in Pittsburgh, and that would be the ideal place to trade him, so that we'd only see him maybe once every 4 years.

I think a team like those two would defintiely give up a 1st day pick for Duckett. The question with the Steelers is how confident they are in Willie Parker to hold up for a whole season.

Besides Pittsburgh and Carolina, I don't think there is a very strong market for Duckett. New England or the N.Y. Jets could go after him, but I don't see any other team really giving up a 1st day pick for him.
