Same old Falcons

A true contender would have stomped this team. Feels eerily like last years team.

Re: Devonta due for a down year?

Right now the Falcons are wasting Julio's prime and what's left of Matt Ryan's talent by keeping Shanahan on as OC. He reeks of arrogance just like his father and hasn't done anything at the NFL level except get fired. I'd like to the think the Falcons are trending up, but we will be limited with KS...

Being reported that Julio "tweaked" something at practice today. Something or nothing?

Re: Like a true defensive coach.......

Point being I think the article portrays DQ as an "anti-analytics" and "old school" sort of coach, when I think he's anything but.

Like a true defensive coach.......

.......Dan Quinn can't stand scoring points! It’s been a debate that has picked up steam since the rule was changed last season, where the extra-point kick attempts were moved to the 15-yard line to encourage teams to go for two. Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn doesn’t feel the needed to go for...

This is Quinn's pick all the way. TD will take the heat and probably loose his job over it, but this pick screamed of Quinn.

Re: Falcons have toughest schedule in 2016

Schedule does look bad. A 4-week stretch, in this order: NO on the road on a Monday. Guaranteed loss. Carolina at home on the short week. Denver on the road. Seattle on the road.

Ouch. Quinn better coach 'em up more than he showed last year or it could realistically be a 3-13 season.

Re: What are the odds the Falcons trade up?

I'd say the odds aren't that great. I don't follow college as closely as I used too, but it just doesn't seem like there's a super stud to trade up for tis year.

We still have lots of holes and I'm guessing it's going to be quantity over quality....

Re: Free Agency So Far

Sanu is a terrible signing. I don't think this is a hot take, but I think it'll go down as one of the worst free agent moves this team has made over the past 15 years. Yes, worse than Tyson Jackson, Ray Edwards, Ed Hartwell and any other terrible move you can think of. Ouch. Harsh words from a hars...

Re: Free Agency So Far

Took you long enough to join the anti-Shanny club. :D I like the Mack signing and that's about it. And that's if he can stay healthy. I suppose I can give them a little credit for at least trying to address our needs. It doesn't really matter because with Shanahan happy to be topping out at 20 point...

Re: Roddy Gone

A year too late in my opinion. That being said...one of our strengths over the past few seasons....the receiving core....is now one of our weaknesses. We need someone to take heat off of Julio.

Re: Falcons Shuffle Coaching Staff, Move Raheem to WRs

Morris coaching the WR's is a little head scratching to me. He has no experience on any level, yet is now expected to "teach" one of the top 3 WR's in the league and presumably a couple young guys we are going to be bringing in? This is one of the downsides of bringing in a defensive minde...

All I can say is that defense needs more "playmakers". If one of the three you mentioned (or a FA) can come in and make momentum shifting, game changing plays I'm all for it!

Shanahan - 4 teams in 7 years. Teams just do not let "talented" young OC's walk out the door. He's been escorted out doors for a reason.

Re: So what now?

Seeing how we are keeping Shanahan, we can expect to continue scoring between 17-21 points a game and be horrible in the red zone. So that being said, we are going to have to focus on the defensive side of the ball and to try and keep other teams below 21 a game. Not having a pass rush hurts. We hav...

This week 16 win ove Carolina is arguably the biggest win since the 2012 Seahawks. Hell, you could make the case it's the biggest win since the NFC CHampionship Game in 1998 when you consider the odds the Falcons managed to overcome. Maybe the win in Lambeau eclipses it because that was also a play...

What was the knock on the team when Mike Smith was here? They didn't respond well to adversity. But that was simply dismissed because Mike Smith wasn't a good coach. Now the team is going through the same problems? And now it's once again because the coach isn't good enough. At a certain point you ...

A tough question

If a team quits on a first year coach, do you bring him back? Something just isn't right here. You can cite lack of talent all you want and to a certain extent that is true, but the lack of effort is what is standing out to me. These players are professionals, many are league veterans. We the fans d...
