2004 Training Camp Preview

by Aaron Freeman

Where: Furman University in Greenville, SC and moves to team headquarters in Flowery Branch, GA for the week following.
When: Wednesday, July 28 to Thursday, August 19, 2004. The team's first practice commences at 3:00 PM EST.

This is my fourth annual training camp preview for the Atlanta Falcons. Same format as past years, when I discuss the team position-by-position, with expecations and predictions on what you can see in training camp, preseason, into the regular season, and even in some cases what to expect in next year's training camp. If you count the number of players I predict to make the roster, you will come up with a total of 52. That's because I suspect the Falcons will shuffle their roster at the end of the summer, and add a veteran offensive tackle, taking Bob Whitfield's place on the roster. Based on my predictions on who will and will not make the roster, it would leave the team with little more than $1.5 million in cap space entering the regular season.
